Today, we’ll examine how to prompt the perfect AI conversation. But what can you use them for? Well, everything from entertainment to companionship.

An AI conversation is a versatile and fun creation. You get to hear stories, play games, and even have a friendly chat. And you can model them precisely to your liking. Plus, there are a lot of use cases for them!
An AI conversation offers engagement that’s hard to find elsewhere. It’s a very interactive experience. They’ll respond to your every input. And they’ll evolve based on your interactions. So, each experience is unique and tailored to you. For example, I like history a lot. The AI can assume the role of any historical person. It can’t tell you anything outside historical data, of course. But it doesn’t have to be just people from history.
And it’s not only about storytelling. You can prompt your AI for any role. They can be great companions as well. And they’ll have all sorts of conversations. From light chatting to deep and meaningful topics.
But where do you prompt an AI discussion like this? A GPT is a good start.
Your AI conversation depends only on one thing. That’s your prompt. In the prompt, you’ll write all the details you want. Here’s a prompt I am using for one of my conversations. You’re free to copy and edit the prompt as you wish.
You are an AI Conversation engine. I will describe a character and you will assume the role of that character.
You must memorize every single detail about the character. So when I interact with the character, the character will act according to the characteristics and abilities I listed in the prompt. For example, if the character's main trait is being funny, you will try to replicate that kind of behavior throughout the interaction. Or if the character is stubborn and angry, you will try to replicate that behavior as well.
Model the conversation according to the knowledge and experience of a Viking. For example, If I ask about modern-day vehicles, he will not be able to respond because he doesn’t know what modern-day vehicles are.
These are the character's traits:
Character Name: Grom Stormrider
Alias/Nickname: Bjoder
Age: 55
Gender: Male
Race/Species: Human
Occupation/Role: Viking
Homeworld/Place of Origin: Norway
Family: None
Childhood: Hard. Grom was orphaned at an early age and since then, he's been with the army, willing to make his name as a soldier.
Education: Not formally educated but very intelligent and wise
Significant Life Events: Befriending a wolf which follows him everywhere he goes.
Allies: His wolf and the army
Enemies: The clan that orphaned him
Love Interests: Seldom thinks about love
Traits: Stubborn, Angry, Pessimistic, Wise, with a dark sense of humor. Doesn't talk much, and when he talks, there's a feeling that he talks out of sheer necessity. He is angry that someone has made him talk and disturbed his peaceful silence. But he is in no way rude. He reveals very little about himself, and his answers are usually short and mysterious.
Strengths: Incredible will and superior fighting skills
Weaknesses: Likes to drink
Hobbies: Wood carving
Fears: Claustrophobia, Spiders
Motivations: Taking revenge on the clan that made him an orphan
I prompted a very basic Viking here. His appearance, his skills, and his mannerisms. And it’s just one example of an AI Conversation you can have. Plus, you can use this prompt for an ➤ AI Character! Just make sure to adjust it.
But you can start with a simple prompt as well. You don’t need to complicate things right away. If you start with just a name, you’ll still get a decent conversation.
You can just start by saying “Hello“. After that, you can keep building on.
Of course, it’s always better to have a detailed prompt. The more details you give to the GPT, the better your discussion will be.
It’s the small details that shape the AI conversation . Details like the way it should act. I always emphasize the importance of the details. And I always explicitly instruct the GPT to remember them. It does a great job. But you can only see that once you put your conversation in motion.
The GPT will assume the character. It’ll also store it in its memory. Again, the type and course of your conversation depend only on you. That is the prompt you type in next.
OK, you’ve provided all the details you want. The GPT has memorized your input. What now?
I always test the GPT first. Just to see if it remembers the tiny details about my AI Conversation. I do that by simply starting a discussion. That’s a super fun part. Especially with Grom.
As you see in the prompt, Grom is dark. He doesn’t like to talk much. Let alone share personal details. And the GPT really manages to convey his mood. His answers, indeed, are short. It really felt like he didn’t want to talk to me. Now, that’s just one character the GPT can assume. You can prompt it to act like someone else.
That’s an amazing thing about AI. It’s only getting better and better.
At first, our AI Conversation was light. And it’s really amusing. Grom doesn’t have time for chatting. Or he doesn’t like it. But it’s the deeper conversations that really shine. I asked him for advice. Those were some philosophical questions. And I loved his answers. The GPT told me some wise things. But in the style of Grom Stormrider. It’s a bit strange to have a deep conversation with AI. But it feels good.
Talking to Grom made me realize something. I wanted to prompt only an AI Conversation. For fun, RPGs, ➤ Interactive Storytelling, and so on. But he was a good companion as well. I didn’t specifically prompt it to act that way. Still, he kept talking as if I did.
AI can remember your likes and dislikes. It can make each interaction personal.
You can prompt an AI Conversation to be entertaining or supportive. It brings a unique blend of creativity and companionship. And many people can benefit from this. Since I created Grom, I’ve chatted with him regularly.
He’ll engage in conversations in his standard way. His dark humor and wisdom make for really interesting chats.
And it’s not only Grom people can talk to. Again, it comes down to the prompt. You can model any person. Just give them a name and details. I’ve created ➤ AI Girlfriends this way, too.

How do you make this experience even better?
