Traditional writing takes a lot of time. Plus, you need great skills. Also, excellent command of the language. But those days may be over. Now, I’m not saying AI books are better than classic ones. That’s a topic for a different article. We’re here to see how to make an AI-generated book.
An AI book starts with an idea. Just like a traditional one. But the writing process is different.
Being a ➤ storyteller is way easier with AI. This new tech is changing the game. It lets everyone tell their story. And this adds a lot of new voices to the mix. Plus, you get to write way faster. It just cuts down on the editing.
You don’t have to sweat over every word. Or struggle with writer’s block. The AI handles the heavy lifting here. This means you can go from a simple idea to a complete ➤ story quickly. It’s perfect for anyone who’s got stories bubbling up. Unfortunately, we often don’t have enough time to write them.
Nowadays, tools like GPT make it all easier. Let’s get you started!
Your AI Books start with an idea. You will then turn this idea into a prompt. First, let me give you one of my prompts. I used this for a futuristic cyberpunk novel. You’re free to use and edit this prompt as you wish.
You are a book-writing engine. Write a book based following these information and rules:
Title: "Neon Shadows"
Genre: Cyberpunk Thriller
Synopsis:
In the sprawling megacity of Synthopolis, where neon lights pierce the perpetual night and rain-soaked streets hide secrets in their shadows, humanity has embraced cybernetic enhancements and advanced AI. The story follows Raze Volt, a jaded private investigator with a haunted past and a robotic arm, as he navigates the city's underbelly. Hired by a mysterious femme fatale, Jade, Raze uncovers a conspiracy that threatens to upend the fragile balance of power between megacorporations, the government, and underground syndicates. As he digs deeper, Raze must confront his own demons and decide where his loyalties lie. The journey takes him through glittering skyscrapers, dark alleys, and virtual realms, revealing a world where trust is scarce, and betrayal is the currency of survival.
Main Characters:
Raze Volt: The protagonist, a grizzled private investigator with cybernetic enhancements, struggling with his past.
Jade: A mysterious and alluring femme fatale, who hires Raze for a dangerous job.

The Underbelly: The city's dark and dangerous underground, filled with gangs, black markets, and hidden secrets.
Virtual Realms: Immersive digital landscapes where hackers and corporations wage cyber warfare.
Corporate Headquarters: The sleek and imposing skyscrapers where the city's real power resides.
Safehouses and Hideouts: Secluded spots where Raze and his allies plan their moves and evade enemies.
Chapters Outline:
Prologue: A Dark Prelude - Introducing the grim atmosphere of Synthopolis and Raze’s latest case.
Chapter 1: The Femme Fatale - Raze meets Jade and takes on the job that will change everything.
Chapter 2: Into the Underbelly - Investigating leads in the city's dangerous underground.
Chapter 3: Ghosts of the Past - Confronting old enemies and allies, including Dr. Orion.
Chapter 4: Digital Shadows - Navigating the virtual realms with the help of Rook.
Chapter 5: The Heart of the Beast - Infiltrating a corporate headquarters to uncover crucial information.
Chapter 6: Betrayals and Loyalties - Unraveling the conspiracy and facing unexpected betrayals.
Chapter 7: The Final Showdown - The climactic confrontation with the Director and the resolution of the central conflict.

Instructions for Writing:
1. Begin each chapter with vivid, atmospheric descriptions to immerse the reader in the cyberpunk setting.
2. Develop the characters through their actions, dialogue, and internal monologues, emphasizing their moral complexities.
3. Introduce plot twists and challenges to maintain suspense and interest.
Show the growth and development of Raze Volt and his allies throughout the story.
4. Balance action scenes with moments of reflection and character interaction.
5. Create a climactic final battle that tests the characters’ limits and resolves the central conflict.
6. Integrate cyberpunk themes such as the impact of technology on humanity, societal inequality, and the struggle for identity in a digital age.
So, it’s not complicated. There are some things to consider, though. You don’t need to have the whole story in your head right away. It’s best if you go step by step.
First, you’ll need an idea. And this can be anything you want. What’s your AI Book about? I love detective stories. So, I chose that. But you can choose anything else. It can be a comedy, a horror, or a romance. Even a ➤ comic book. It’s totally up to you. That can be your starting point. For example, “A Detective in a futuristic city“.
GPT will start crafting your AI Books even from the simplest ideas.
So, you’ve got your setting and genre. Next up is ➤ character creation. AI Books need awesome characters, too. What does your character do? Who are they? Think of some characteristics. Appearance too. Strengths, weaknesses, and so on. You can even ask GPT for help.
Creating memorable characters is crucial. When you prompt your AI Books, details matter. Describe your characters in detail. Think about their pasts, their fears and desires. And how these traits drive their actions in the story.
Details help the AI craft good characters. Characters who are not just figures in your narrative. They are real personalities readers can connect with. The goal here is to breathe life into characters. They need to resonate deeply with readers. And potentially become iconic figures.
The better the prompt, the better your AI Book.
Personality is what makes your character tick. Are they brave, timid, troubled, or cheerful? Focus on what will impact your AI Books. Include both strengths and weaknesses. This ensures they are balanced and relatable.
Now, you need other characters as well. Something like ➤ NPCs in a game. Does your character have friends or helpers? Do they have any enemies? They are important as well. Perform the same creative process for each character. That’s a perfect foundation for your AI Books.
This is the part that takes the longest. But it doesn’t have to. This also depends entirely on your approach.
First, think about the main events in your AI Books. What will your characters do? And what will their opponents do? You can use my prompt as a template here. Just change everything to fit your story. But you can also ask the AI to help.
Let’s say you need an idea for the ➤ plots. GPT can be a great ➤ assistant here. It will write out the entire chapter list. After that, you can just edit the details. In the end, those are your AI Books. And they should be personal.
That’s one of the best things about AI. It’ll give you ideas in the blink of an eye. This is a great way to eliminate ➤ writer’s block.
